Activities

Research Interests

My research endeavors are driven by an interest in creating knowledge and artifacts that aid in profoundly improving human lives. Focus lies especially on the augmentation of mental and social functioning through design and engineering of innovative technological means. Innovation activities (e.g. in organizations and in collaboration with external actors) provide fertile ground for this approach.

While previous work dealt with the potentiality of intrinsically motivated action in customer co-creation platform, current research activities are focused on the augmentation of social interaction and group performance through psychophysiological feedback mechanisms.

Therefore current interests include:

  • Individual and social functioning: Emotional & Collective Intelligence, Flow, Emotion regulation
  • Technical augmentation means: Psychophysiological Feedback Mechanisms & Designs, Cognitive & Affective State Detection

Topics of Interest:

  • Flow Psycho- & Neurophysiology
  • Neuro-Information Systems (NeuroIS) & Physiological Computing Systems
  • Bio- & Neurofeedback Applications

Methods:

  • Electrocardiography (ECG) – Especially Heart Rate Variability Analysis
  • Electroencephalography (EEG) – Especially Time-Frequency Analysis
  • Experimental Laboratory Research
  • Survey Studies
