We create value from information. The Research Group Information & Market Engineering (IISM, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology) conducts internationally renowned research on the interactions of Information Systems, people, and markets. As a team of around 30 researchers headed by Prof. Christof Weinhardt, we support and research digitization, energy system transformation, new developments in the platform economy, and citizen participation.
Prof. Weinhardt is currently Editor-in-Chief of the international Business & Information System Engineering (BISE) Journal, one of the leading European IS Journals and the journal that represents the German speaking “Wirtschaftsinformatik-Community”. To support all activities within this engagement, we are currently looking for a PostDoc or Senior Ph.D. Student.
Responsibilities include the initial assessment of all submissions to the journal, the supervision of the review process, and the communication to the Department and Associate Editors. Additional tasks include supporting Prof. Weinhardt and the editorial team in all strategic decisions, preparing meetings, and coordinating all activities between the parties. At the “heart” of the scientific publishing process, the position promises a valuable insight into the scientific publishing processes in general, it offers the unique opportunity to get in touch with a long list of renowned German and international academics (BISE Editorial Board), and provides a permanent condensed overview of the current research landscape in Information Systems.
The tasks related to the BISE Journal will require about 30-40% of a full-time position. Furthermore, the job holder is free to pursue his IS research and his scientific ambitions (within the research group of Prof. Weinhardt).
