In contrast to large and globally acting companies, small and medium sized businesses often struggle with the opportunities and risks of the digitization. An appropriate aggregation, preparation, and communication for medium sized businesses does not exist. Especially with a focus on the dedicated value chains, in which medium sized companies are involved. Hence, the project Mittelstand 4.0 – DigiRegioBW focusses on demonstrating and creating potentials through the digitization in close cooperation with medium sized businesses. The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and implemented at the FZI Research Center for Information Technology.
