FAZ.Net-Orakel

Prediction markets use a markets’ information efficiency and combine it with the wisdom of the crowds. The predictions are in many cases more accurate and earlier available than comparable prediction instruments such as polls and ballots. Prediction markets were used in several projects with partners from industry and science for a variety of use cases, e.g., politics, economic indicators, sports, climate change, and innovations. With the FAZ.NET-Orakel in cooperation with the Frankfurter Allgemeinen Zeitung and the IW-Köln we predict cyclical developments, elections, sport events, and current events. In addition, the FAZ.NET-Orakel integrates innovative prediction methods such as real time delphi studies. Using this, prediction markets can be extended by qualitative information.
