Tätigkeiten

Simon Caton ist Senior Researcher am Karlsruhe Service Research Institute (KSRI) und Leiter der Abteilung „Corporate & Cloud Services“ am Institut für Informationssysteme und Management (IISM). Das KSRI und IISM sind Teil des Karlsruher Instituts für Technologie (KIT), wo Simon Caton zurzeit an seiner Habilitation arbeitet. Er ist Koordinator der YIG (Young Investor Group)-Nachwuchsforschungsgruppe “Social Cloud: social network-based collaboration environments”. Zuvor war Simon wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter an der Universität Cardiff im Fachbereich Informatik tätig. Dort arbeitete er am FP6 EU Projekt SORMA im Bereich „SLA Management and Enforcement“. 2010 promovierte er über das Thema ‚Autonomic Management of Volunteer Resources for Distributed and Parallel Image Processing in Campus-Grids‘. Simon Catons Forschungsinteressen beinhalten: Social Cloud Computing, the adoption of Autonomic Computing for electronic markets und Service Level Agreements.
